DON'T try to change yourself to please other people. That's what this song is about. It's taken me way to long to learn how important self love is. I'm weird, quirky, gay, biracial, a total goof sometimes and all of that is 100% OK.

Self love for Black girls is often seen as selfish or narcissistic. Society has been conditioning us to work hard, be quiet and stay humble but now it's time to learn how to be proud of who we are and how we got there. That's exactly what DON'T is about.
